Preserve · Beta

A private capsule for the people who come after you

Letters, recordings, photographs and documents, sealed for the people you name and opened when you choose. Add to it over the years. Invite family to add too.

Preserve is in beta

Preserve is in beta. Capsules you create now are private, exportable and yours to delete. We are building the release process carefully and will not promise a delivery date we cannot keep. Your own exports are always the surest copy. How we think about continuity

How it works

Five steps, taken at your own pace

Create a capsule

Personal, or shared with family. Give it a name and a purpose.

Add what matters

Letters, voice notes, video, photographs, scans. Note the context behind each item so it is understood later.

Invite contributors

Family and trusted people can add their own items. You decide who may see what.

Name the recipients

One person or several, with a legacy contact who can help if you no longer can.

Choose the opening

A date, a milestone, or a decision left to your legacy contact. Change it any time.

Plain language

What a capsule is, and what it is not

What we do

  • Store capsule content privately, off any public address, with access checked on every request.
  • Keep an activity log you can read, so you know who added, changed or viewed what.
  • Let you export everything as a plain archive at any time, and delete it when you decide.
  • Keep administrators out of capsule content by default. Any access is a deliberate, logged act.
  • Publish a continuity plan and keep it current.

What we do not promise

  • That any online service, including this one, will exist unchanged in fifty years.
  • That an email address given today will still reach someone in decades. We ask for several ways to reach recipients and check in over time.
  • Automatic release during the beta. Release is handled carefully by people until the safeguards are proven.
  • That a capsule replaces your own copies. Keep your export somewhere you trust.

Kinds of capsule

For one person, a family, or an institution

Personal

A message to one person

A letter and a recording for a child, a partner, a friend. Opened on a birthday, a graduation, or a date you name.

Family

A shared archive

Grandparents, parents and children add over the years. Recipes, voices, the story behind every photograph.

Institutional

The class of 2026

A university or school seals a year of voices for 2076. Available to approved partners.
